Privacy policy
mcbepacks lists Minecraft texture packs, pack folders, overlays, clients and add-ons. You can browse and download without an account. This page explains what the site collects, why, and how to delete it.
When you browse
- The site has no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking cookies.
- Each pack shows a view count. A view counts once per pack per visit and isn't linked to you.
- The site also counts visits and downloads per day, so admins and creators can see how packs are doing. These are just numbers per day. They aren't linked to you, and no cookies are used for them.
- If a pack has a video, its page plays it from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. When the video loads, YouTube receives your IP address and browser details and may store data in your browser, under Google's privacy policy.
- Like any website, the services that run mcbepacks (listed below) receive your IP address and browser details when your browser connects to them. They use them to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
When you sign in
You can sign in with Google. When you do, that service sends mcbepacks:
- your account ID, name and profile picture.
- your email address. It's stored with your account so that sign-in works. It's never shown on the site, and it isn't used to contact you.
Your account also stores the packs you save and your likes and dislikes. Each pack shows how many likes and dislikes it has, but never who voted.
Your profile and posts
- Your profile page is public. It shows your name, picture, username, role, the date you joined, your bio and links, and the packs you've published. You can change your name, username, bio and links, upload a different picture or hide it, under Edit profile.
- Packs you post, with their screenshots, are public once they're published. If you're a viewer, an admin checks each post first. Until then only you and the site's admins can see it, and if it isn't approved you'll see the admin's note on your account page.
- Pictures and screenshots you upload are stored with Supabase and can be opened by anyone who has the link.
Stored on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your choices: light or dark mode, edition, layout, packs saved without an account, and download steps you've finished. For the length of a visit it also notes which packs you've viewed or downloaded, so each is only counted once. None of it is used to track you. Clearing your browser's data for this site removes it.
Who handles your data
- Supabase stores accounts, profiles, posts, saved packs, votes and uploaded pictures on servers in the EU (Ireland).
- Cloudflare hosts the site and protects it from attacks.
- YouTube (Google) plays pack videos when you open a pack that has one.
- Google handles sign-in when you choose it. Its own privacy policy covers your account there. Profile pictures load from its servers.
mcbepacks doesn't sell your data or share it with advertisers. Pack pages link to downloads, YouTube channels and Discord servers run by pack creators, and those sites have their own privacy policies.
How long it's kept
Your account data stays until you delete your account. To delete it, sign in, open your account page and choose Delete account. Your profile, profile pictures, saved packs, votes and posts waiting for review are removed straight away. Packs you've published stay on the site without your name. To have them removed too, email [email protected]. The daily counts of visits, views and downloads contain nothing about you, so they're kept. Supabase and Cloudflare keep short-lived server logs for security, which they delete on their own schedules.
Your rights
mcbepacks uses your data to provide the account features you ask for and to keep the site secure. You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing [email protected].
If you're in the UK or EU and you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.
Children
You need to be at least 13 to sign in. If you think a child under 13 has made an account, email [email protected] and the account will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page and the date at the top will be updated.
